Sullivan County
Historical Museum
The
Society maintains a
display and library
at the Sullivan
County Museum.
The exhibit begun in
1975 was revamped
and expanded in 1998
and includes a small
video library and
artifacts from
Cook's various
expeditions,
including a Polar
sled made by his
brother Theodore at
their nearby
homestead. A
library of some 400
Polar volumes
including many first
editions owned by
Cook, is also in the
building.

Frederick
A. Cook Collection
Library of
Congress
The
Frederick A. Cook
Collection was given
to the Library of
Congress in 1989
following the death
of his grandaughter,
Janet Vetter, whose
papers included that
of her mother Helene
Cook Vetter
(1906-77), Cook's
younger
daughter.
Prepared in 1991, it
involves 10 linear
feet of shelf space
and approximately
6,000 items.
The papers span the
years 1881-1977.
The Collection is in
the Special
Collections Room of
the Madison
Building.
Photographic images
are stored
separately, in Photo
Archives, Third
Floor
Many of the photos
are also available
online.
