About the Frederick A. Cook Society

The Frederick A. Cook Society is a nonprofit, educational organization which holds an annual meeting, publishes a membership newsletter three times a year, and an annual journal of professional papers and scholarly work.  The Society maintains the Frederick A. Cook Collection and exhibit in Hurleyville, NY and assists writers, scholars, and individuals seeking information on the life and work of Frederick Albert Cook (1856-1940).

The Society maintains a display and library at the Sullivan county Museum in Hurleyville, New York, and coordinates research in the Cook Collection at the Library of Congress and at the Archives of the Byrd Polar Research Center at Ohio State University.
